Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
