Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
