“Using” trade levy ultimatums is not the proper method to engage with the Chinese government,” the official commented.

“Beijing’s stance” on a import duty dispute has remained unchanging: we wish to avoid one, but we are unafraid of one.”

Last week, the Chinese government revealed it was reinforcing overseas sale regulations on rare earth minerals and additional substances essential to cutting-edge industry.

The action was viewed as a significant step, as the country refines about ninety percent of the planet’s critical minerals, which are used in goods such as renewable energy components and handheld devices.
