Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of performers contributing to Lullaby features a range of well-known figures from the music world. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of talented individuals. The single showcases a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The group managing the initiative have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the region was characterized as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
